We're having fun now!

A few decent contributors to the Commentator had a nice conversation last evening about the relatives of a certain sheriff and a former magistrate making lewd, explicit and personally attacking comments on here (Pocahontas County's premier site). Needless to say, those good people at the courthouse and relatives abroad, crawled out from under their rocks to defend Jonese, Beverage, Fleming, Saffer and Walton.

Since last night, I have found a barrage of those vitriol filled and explicit comments trying to be pushed through. Unfortunately for those trolls; they can't be posted. See, this blog has a nifty little feature. Once I, your humble moderator, mark someone's IP as being a spammer, google automatically black lists that comment-er as a troll........ a spammer.

Here's the funny part: Think of  the poor man being censored (an escorted out by an armed police officer) at the county commission meet just a few days ago. Think about the Arbovale gentleman being treated like a dog because he allegedly "ran a stop sign". Think about Norman being denied his freedom to visit his grandchild in Seattle because he was illegally arrested and detained by the sheriff's office and Kathy Beverage. Think about how all these people's rights were stolen. Then, think about how you feel because your comment won't be published. Do you like this feeling? Being voiceless? The shoe is most definitely on the other foot now isn't?

Chances of a fair trial for Totten?

I posed a couple questions to a Mason friend of mine today and he refused to answer. Maybe some of our readers will chip in?

Question #1: Being that Bradley Totten has been indicted on 46 charges ranging from sexual assault to all out rape stemming from multiple complaints from multiple victims: Is Brad still a Mason?

Question #2: Since we know that most of the "higher ups" in county and state government, can we assume that Judge Rowe himself is a Mason?

Question #3: Being that Bradley presumably is still a Mason; can we expect a fair trial or more secret handshake justice?

A big thumbs up to our Sheriff's department!

Now, I know that there is some skepticism about Norman and myself being two different people. The truth is; We are. Norman and I think a lot differently.

Norman posted a poll titled "Who's to blame?" and in that article/poll, he mentioned that the Sheriff's Dept (lead by Sheriff David Jonese and Major David Walton) took unauthorized action to provide the good citizens some relief (and in all likelihood survival) from being powerless due to the recent storm that paralyzed the county.

I would like to go on the record and congratulate and thank the deputies, Major David Walton and of course Sheriff David Jonese on a job well done! Their insight into how serious this situation really was truly helped out the county and the people that suffered and are still suffering.

Sheriff Jonese showed great leadership by personally helping prepare meals for the hungry. He and Major David Walton demonstrated tremendous leadership in responding immediately to the county's people and our safety. Sheriff David Jonese and his troop are modern day heroes folks. Please acknowledge this.

FEMA will not help.

Severe storms on Friday, June 29, and another storm on Sunday, caused widespread power outages in our West VIrginia and Maryland service areas. Our crews continue working 16-hour shifts, around the clock, to restore power.

The majority of affected Mon Power customers are expected to be restored by late Sunday evening.  However, because of the severe damage and accessibility challenges in many remote locations, some customers will not be fully restored until early next week.

Readers growing tired of inaccurate Times reporting.

Reader wants a little space on the Commentator.

Here we are again Moderator. Another disaster and another chance for the upper end of the county to be forgotten. I read Pam Pritt's feel good stories, about how everything was handled perfectly. I read that by candlelight though, according to Pam, all of the upper end had power restored quickly. Apparently, someone missed the memo that in reality; a great portion of the northern end of the county is still without power. 

I read Pam's stories or heroism from our county officials. Oddly enough, I have still yet to hear from any of them. I did see deputies Bradley Nelson and Brian Shinaberry at Trent's a few days ago. They are all though. 

I'm wondering where my county commission is located. I'm wondering where the emergency management crew is. I suppose they are still in Marlinton; sucking up every resource and dispensing to the Marlintonites greedily.

Apparently, the northern end of the county exists only when taxes are due and votes are needed. I've talked to many people the past few days. All are in favor of the upper end succeeding from Marlinton (AKA Pocahontas County). The petition will be circulating shortly. Will the etater support it?
